How much is membership?
There is no membership fee. Simply enjoy at least one massage treatment a month for 6 or 12 months at your preferred member price.

Will I be charged monthly for my membership?
We do not pre-charge each month. You pay for each treatment at the time the treatment is received. If you do not book a treatment one month, the monthly treatment fee is processed and kept on file as a credit for a second monthly treatment during your membership.

How does the membership work?
Enjoy a massage treatment a month for 6 or 12 months at your preferred member price. If you want more than one treatment per month, you’ll enjoy the preferred member price every time you visit.

As a bonus, we extend the preferred member price to family members in your household – without the monthly commitment. However, you will need to fulfill your monthly commitment regardless of how often your family members receive treatments.

If you do not book your monthly treatment, simply save it and enjoy a second treatment another month. The monthly treatment fee is processed and kept on file as a credit for a second monthly treatment during any month of your membership.

What type of massage stretches you?
Summary: Thai massage is more active than other forms of massage, and the therapist will stretch your body in addition to providing a massage. This is another type of massage where you remain fully clothed.

What do you wear for a full body massage?
For a full-body massage, you can opt to keep your pants on or go completely in the buff. You’ll find that most massage therapists are very skilled at protecting your modesty and making you feel comfortable; you’ll never have to uncover anything you’d rather not.

Is it OK to have massage every day?
You may seek deep tissue massages daily, a few times a week, or a few times a month for pain. Your massage therapist can recommend a frequency and duration to address the underlying health condition prompting this type of massage.

How often is too often for a massage?
In most cases, after an injury, your therapist may recommend massage once or twice a week throughout your recovery. If you have a chronic health condition, one a week, or bi-weekly is typically recommended but this also depends on how your body feels.

Does a full body massage include private parts?
Full body massage means head to toe including your hair, head, eyes, ears, and chin. Although it’s a total body massage from top to bottom, you will be asked to leave immediately if you request anything sexual.

What should you not do during a massage?
Don’t eat a heavy meal before a treatment; it could make you feel uncomfortable during your session. Do limit caffeine, it could make you jittery and prevent you from fully relaxing during your treatment. Do get in the jaccuzzi tub. This will warm up your body and help calm your body, mind and spirit.

How long should I get a massage for?
Typically massage therapy should be at least 50 minutes to one hour for a general full body treatment to be effective. Some establishments offer forty-five and fifty minute session

How often should you get a massage?
Typically, once every week or two is ideal for keeping your muscle tissue pliable and in good shape. If you are in chronic pain or have a special issue to address, you might need to come weekly (or even twice a week) until you feel better.

What happens if you over massage?
Applying too much pressure to the tissue or pulling it too far can exacerbate an injury or cause problems that were not there already. There are many therapists out there that unfortunately do not understand this. In my own experience I once had a therapist working on my iliotibial band.

Is it good to stretch after a massage?
Stretching after your massage is a way of preserving the benefits. Stretching after you exercise is also a way of preserving the benefits of the activity you just did. When you stretch you prevent your muscles from seizing up and retain the strength and elasticity within.

Why do I get sick after a massage?
If you have too much lymph in your body, it can build up in the tissues under the skin’s surface — the same tissues that are manipulated during a massage. It would make sense, then, that a deep-tissue rubdown would cause your body to suddenly be flooded with those toxins in your lymph, making you suddenly feel icky.

What happens if you fall asleep during a massage?
As any massage therapist will tell you, it is completely acceptable to fall asleep during a massage session. In fact, it is a very healthy and normal reaction to an extremely relaxing stimulus.

Why do I poop after a massage?
Massage slows down breathing and your circulation, lowers your blood pressure and turns back on your digestion (the repetitive strokes of a massage on the lower torso also help stimulate the large intestine). This is why it can be beneficial for digestive problems.

Do you wear a bra in a massage?
Many people prefer to keep their underwear on during a massage, while others prefer to be nude. It’s up to you. Women usually remove their bras to allow the massage therapist to work on the back and shoulder area without getting massage oil or lotion on the bra.

Is too much massage harmful?
Some forms of massage can leave you feeling a bit sore the next day. But massage shouldn’t ordinarily be painful or uncomfortable. If any part of your massage doesn’t feel right or is painful, speak up right away. Most serious problems come from too much pressure during massage.

Showering Post Massage: Water Temperature
Experts recommend limiting your exposure to hot showers, so either keep your post-massage shower brief or turn down the heat. The bottom line is that you can shower after your massage if it’s your preference, but you should shower safely.

Can a massage cause a heart attack?
Traditional Thai massage techniques on someone who has a risk of blood clotting could possibly dislodge a clot and release it into the blood stream. In a worst-case scenario, this can induce a stroke or heart attack, or a lung blockage.

How often should you massage a knot?
Use your fingers (or tools like foam rollers and massage balls) to press firmly into the trigger points. Repeat for three to five minutes, ideally as often as five or six times per day. “It needs to be part of the daily routine,

How long do the effects of massage last?
Generally speaking, you may feel sore for a couple of days after the massage, which is normal. Beyond that, the benefits may last a couple of days to an entire week. There are some things you can do to help the relaxing, stress-relieving benefits last for as long as possible.

How do massages benefit you?
Massage promotes muscle relaxation – the purpose of massage therapy is to target the source of the body’s pain via eliminating tense muscles, increasing flexibility, and providing relaxation to the affected muscles as well as the body as a whole.

Are neck massages safe?
Massage therapy for the neck is a relatively safe treatment. Some people may experience increased neck soreness and/or swelling shortly after a massage, but these side effects typically do not last long.

Do massages raise blood pressure?
Patients with high blood pressure who are not on medication should be aware that getting a massage will increase their blood flow and that could cause problems.

Is it okay to massage a person with fever?
You should not get a massage if you have a fever. If you are sensitive to the touch in any way avoid massage which will stimulate the skin. A firm massage moves the body around with light force, which can increase feelings of nausea, so if you are already feeling nauseous be sure to avoid massages.

Does body massage lower blood pressure?
Long-term studies have shown that a consistent massage program can decrease diastolic and systolic blood pressure; decrease salivary and urinary cortisol stress-hormone levels; and lower sources for depression, anxiety and hostility, as well as many other benefits.

Do muscle knots go away on their own?
Sometimes muscle knots go away on their own, but in many cases, steps need to be taken to loosen the muscle and resolve the pain. There are many things that contribute to muscle knots, including dehydration. If you’re not drinking enough water per day, then it can make you more prone to developing muscle knots.

How long does it take to remove muscle knots?
Start small—a single session of about 30 seconds might be enough, give or take depending on how helpful it feels. Five minutes is roughly the maximum that any trigger point will need at one time, but there is not really any limit — if rubbing the trigger point continues to feel good, feel free to keep going.

Is it bad to take a bath or go to sauna after a massage?
We recommend waiting for about 2 hours before having a bath or visiting sauna.

Should you exercise after massage?
After a massage, it is important to wait at least 24 hours before doing any strenuous exercise. Strenuous exercise includes running, weight lifting, high-intensity aerobics, power yoga and more

How long after massage can I exercise?
It’s usually recommended that you wait approximately 24 hours to exercise after a massage.

How Do I Cancel an Appointment?
If you’d like to cancel an appointment with your therapist please call 12 hours before your scheduled session to avoid your therapist charging you the full amount of your appointment. If you arrive late to your appointment, you are welcome to use whatever time you have left in your session but your therapist may be booked after your session and unable to your extend your time.

Is there anything I need to do to prepare for my massage?
It’s important to shower shortly before your massage either at home, earlier that day. First time clients are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled appointment so that they can fill out a brief health profile and enjoy the facilities before their session begins.

How Should I Dress for my Massage Therapy Treatment?
Before your massage therapy session begins, you’ll be changing into a robe and sandals either in the locker room area or, if it’s more comfortable for you, in your room. During your massage, you will be covered a sheet and massage therapist will only uncover the areas that are being worked on. Clients are welcome to wear underwear underneath their robes if it’s more comfortable for them.

Do I need to do anything after I’ve changed?
After you change into a robe and sandals, all you have to do is walk to your room, close the door behind you, hang up your robe behind the shelves and lie down on the table underneath the top sheet, either face up or face down as your therapist has indicated their preference. Shortly afterwards, your therapist will knock on the door and walk in to begin your session.
